2007 – Q2: Ajeej Capital was incorporated and registered in the Cayman Islands. Ajeej Capital LLC was incorporated in Riyadh and regulated by the Saudi CMA (up through 2011).
2007 – Q3: First team members arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
2007 – Q4: The Ajeej MENA Fund (the flagship fund) was launched on the 1st of October, 2007, majority seeded by the two founders.
2008 – Q4: Ajeej established satellite office in Dubai with arrival of two new members to the investment team.
2009 – Q3: The Ajeej Opportunistic Fund (the concentrated esoteric fund).
2010 – Q1: The Ajeej Peninsula Fund (the Saudi only fund).
2012 – Q3: Ajeej Capital (DIFC) Limited became a fully licensed entity in the DIFC, regulated by the DFSA.
2012 – Q4: Ajeej was awarded its first sizeable mandate since the financial crisis, which came from a large SWF.
2014 – Q1: The Ajeej MENA Fund’s saw a change of directorship with three independent directors being introduced.
2014 – Q1: Class-L Shares for the Ajeej MENA were launched, providing a relative performance fee structure for larger institutional investors.
2014 – Q3: The Ajeej Peninsula Fund was wound down.
2016 – Q1: Announced a soft close to the Ajeej investment strategy as firm assets approached $1 billion.
2019 – Q1: The Ajeej investment strategy was re-opened to new capital once more, as market dynamics improved.
Present - Ajeej comprises of 15 professionals and manages USD 1bln in MENA public equities.
