Mohammed Zeineddine, PhD, CFA

Mohammed Zeineddine joined Ajeej Capital in 2026 to lead the firm’s quantitative investment effort, building the systematic research, portfolio construction and risk infrastructure that complements Ajeej’s fundamental, conviction-led approach across MENA and emerging markets.

He brings more than a decade of experience in quantitative investing. Prior to joining Ajeej, Mohammed spent eleven years in the Quantitative Equities team at Aberdeen Investments in Edinburgh, latterly as a Senior Quantitative Investment Manager. His work focused on systematic alpha research, portfolio construction and optimisation, and the management of factor and risk exposures across equity portfolios. During his time at Aberdeen, he played a leading role in developing systematic equity strategies and end-to-end investment frameworks combining multi-factor alpha models with advanced portfolio construction techniques.

Previously, Mohammed was a Quantitative Strategist in the Multi-Asset and Risk team at Aegon Asset Management, where he developed systematic asset allocation and forecasting models and worked across portfolio construction, stress testing and risk attribution. Earlier in his career, as a Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen, he led a multinational academic research team applying game theory and mathematical modelling to decision-making under uncertainty.

Mohammed holds a PhD in Mathematical Modelling from Royal Holloway, University of London, and an MSc in Financial Modelling and Optimisation from the University of Edinburgh. He is a CFA Charterholder.

Outside work, Mohammed is happiest outdoors and particularly drawn to the sea, whether scuba diving in warmer waters or surfing in colder ones. He shares his love of nature and the outdoors with his two children, who are always willing companions for a muddy ramble through the woods.
